Martin Brundle is known for his memorable interviews on the grid, but this week he had a rather awkward encounter with Hugh Grant at the British Grand Prix.

The former racing driver turned Formula 1 presenter, 67, was left scrambling after mistakenly asking the English actor, 65, about a show he isn’t in, with Notting Hill star Grant being forced to politely correct him on camera.

Soon, their interview was cut short and Grant, who looked dapper in a beige suit jacket and sunglasses, awkwardly walked off.

After Grant said he was a huge fan of Ferrari, Brundle incorrectly asked about the TV show The Gentlemen, which stars actor Theo James.

Grant actually appeared in a 2019 movie of the same name which also starred Charlie Hunnam and Matthew McConaughey.

“Are you doing another round of The Gentleman, soon, because I really loved that?” he asked, as Grant leaned in to hear the question.

Grant replied: “Well, I did the film of The Gentleman. I haven’t seen the TV series.”

Brundle replied: “Oh right, it’s really good, you really must. I’ve got ten seconds left... good to see you on the Grid.”

Just last month, Brundle was in the headlines when Kim Kardashian got slammed by F1 fans for snubbing him at the Monaco Grand Prix.

“Normally, people will have a quick chat with us. Are you enjoying F1?” he said, before quipping: “So, we’re not talking today.”

Brundle meanwhile, once went viral for a hilarious interaction with Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi, 29.

Last year, Brundle mistook Capaldi’s brother for the singer at the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix.

Soon Lewis, who was right behind his brother, tried to shake Brundle’s hand and was left hanging as Brundle didn’t see it.
