Getting closer! Delta Goodrem steps out with new rugby star boyfriend Drew Mitchell

Wallabies rugby player Drew Mitchell is winning off the field. Days after reports surfaced that he's now the guy in Delta Goodrem's life, new photos show the two looking very much like a happy couple.

"They've been dating for the past few months," a source told Woman's Day of the pair, who were photographed leaving the Boathouse in Palm Beach with friends in late July. "But she really wanted to keep the relationship under wraps until she worked out where it was going."

The Voice coach, 31, and the rugby union star, 32, reportedly first met at a Nine event earlier this year and, according to the source, "things have been moving pretty fast".

Indeed, Delta was all smiles on their Palm Beach outing, opting to wear a flowy bohemian dress and minimal makeup. And her Liverpool-born man seemed equally at ease in casual shorts and Converse sneakers.

"They're spending all their spare time together and she's really, really happy," the source said. "Drew is very laid-back."

The 5-foot-9 athlete previously dated Aussie swimming gold medallist Stephanie Rice, while Delta has been linked to her Cats musical co-star Josh Piterman and DJ Chris Stafford over the past year.
