Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet and long-time partner Lindsay Sweitzer tie the knot in stunning ceremony at home

Eric Stonestreet is a married man! 

The Modern Family favourite and Lindsay Sweitzer are officially husband and wife. 

The 54-year-old made the big reveal on Instagram, sharing a series of gorgeous photos from their big day on his page. 

"It's my birthday and guess what I got," the actor captioned the post.

For the big day, Stonestreet - who is best known for his role playing Cameron Tucker on the long-running sitcom - wore a fitted navy jacket paired with a blue tie. 

Meanwhile, Sweitzer wore a chic satin slip-style gown, finished with a crystal belt detail. 

The couple tied the knot at their dream home in Kansas City.

Another snap gave an insight into the day, revealing they shared their first dance in front of several musicians playing acoustic guitars.

The post has been flooded with congratulatory messages for the couple. 

Stonestreet's Modern Family husband Jesse Tyler Ferguson commented "Of all second marriages, this one is my favourite! I love you both! I'm so happy for you!!!!"

Ferguson's husband, Justin Mikita, also shared the love, commenting, "Congrats!"

"Congratulations! So happy for you both," actress Octavia Spencer commented.

In July Stonestreet confirmed that the plan was to tie the knot in their home in Kansas City. 

"Well, I've said we're building a house to host a wedding, and we're still on track to do that," the actor told People. 

"We're almost done with the house, and that's been our plan all along."

He explained that then they got engaged, they also got an opportunity to build a house, so they looked at it as building the foundation for their marriage. 

The couple have been together since 2017, when it was first confirmed the Modern Family star was dating the paediatric nurse. 

They got engaged in 2021 and are building quite the life together.
