In the statement, shared by a spokeswoman of the Privateer Rum CEO, it revealed that he and Kristin actually split weeks before the concert.
The statement confirmed that they "were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert".
"Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening. Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they've always valued," it added in part.
Following the viral clip, Kristin and Andy Byron have both since resigned from the US tech company, Astronomer.
Andy's wife Megan has also removed the name "Byron" from her surname on social media.
