Elton John reveals 'severe' secret health battle has left him 'with only limited vision in one eye'
Elton John has quietly been battling a serious infection, but he's still standing.
The 77-year-old Rocket Man singer opened up about his health in a statement shared to his 4.9 million Instagram followers in the early hours of this morning, where he revealed he's been "dealing with a severe eye infection" over the American summer.
"That has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye," John wrote in his statement.

"I am healing, but it's an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye," the EGOT status holder continued.
"I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks."
"I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far," John's message continued.
It comes one year after John, who signed off his statement "with love and gratitude", said goodbye to 50 years of touring with a final Farewell Yellow Brick Road show in Sweden in July 2023.

In February, he won his first Emmy, making him the 19th person to win an Emmy, Oscar, a Tony and a Grammy – one of the elite group who has EGOT status.
John's Emmy, however, was accepted on his behalf by producer Ben Winston, as John didn't attend the ceremony.
His husband David Furnish – with whom John shares 13-year-old son Zachary and 11-year-old son Elijah – attended the Emmys in John's place.
