'We cannot believe the news ourselves': 'Devastated' Crazy P confirms frontwoman Danielle Moore's 'unbelievable and shocking' death aged 52

Crazy P frontwoman Danielle Moore has died. She was 52.

The "devastated" British electronic group confirmed the "unbelievable and shocking" news in a statement shared on social media overnight.

"Our beautiful Danielle Moore has died in sudden and tragic circumstances," the band wrote on Facebook, revealing she died on the afternoon of August 30.

"We cannot believe the news ourselves and we know it will be the same for all of you," the band's message continued.

"She gave us so much and we love her so much. Our hearts are broken. We need time to process that this has happened.

"Danielle lived a life driven by love compassion community and music. She lived the biggest of lives. We will miss her with all our hearts X".

No cause of death has been given.

Originally formed by Chris Todd and Jim Baron in 1995, Moore joined Crazy P in 2002 with bassist Tim Davies and percussionist Mav Kendricks.

Recently, the group supported Irish musician Róisín Murphy on tour, with Murphy paying tribute to Moore on Instagram.

"One of the most beautiful souls has left us," Murphy wrote. "The brilliant Danielle Moore of [Crazy P] has died suddenly and she has taken so much light with her."

"One of the best in music, an amazing person and an amazing singer, performer and songwriter. I know there will be a great sense of loss and mourning across our community," she continued.

"She touched everybody she met with light and love. Sending sincerest condolences to those friends and family closest to her. I, like so many, loved and admired her. 💔💔💔 RIP my darling."
