The staff of Samaras Wollongong were paid the compliment of a lifetime after Aussie megastar Chris Hemsworth stopped by for lunch.

The family-owned restaurant said they are “still pinching ourselves” after welcoming the 42-year-old actor, and even shared his favourite meal from the day.

The Thor star is currently south of Sydney filming Extraction 3 alongside Golden Globe winner Idris Elba.

“We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Chris Hemsworth in for lunch, and what an unforgettable afternoon it was,” the restaurant shared to their Instagram on Thursday with selfies of the star.

“The highlight? Chris saying ‘I feel like I’m at my grandma’s house’. There honestly isn’t a better compliment than that 😊🥹.”

“And before everyone asks… 👀 His favourite? The lamb shawarma with garlic sauce 🔥 Who would’ve guessed?,” they revealed.

The faces behind the restaurant, known for its authentic Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine, revealed they couldn’t help but bring out more food for the Marvel star to enjoy.

They said Hemsworth “loved” the food and became “besties” with them by the end.

The God of Thunder even took home a bottle of their home-made olive oil, and by the looks of it, was more than happy to take a few smiling snaps with the locals.

On July 24, it was announced Hemsworth, Elba and Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani would be relocating to the South Coast of NSW to film the Netflix thriller Extraction 3.

The film is set to create 450 local jobs and contribute an estimated $127 million to the state’s screen industry and broader economy.
