Chris Hemsworth documents ‘life-threatening’ moment during family holiday

Chris Hemsworth has given fans a look at an action-packed holiday to Costa Rica with his family, and we’re tired just watching.

The actor, 42, shared a five-minute-long YouTube video from the family’s adventures in the Central American country, including fishing, surfing, cliff diving, rock climbing – and one very dicey moment in a plane.

Hemsworth was clearly impressed by his kids, daughter India, 14, and twin boys Sasha and Tristan, 12, soaking up the high-octane experiences.

“My kids continue to crush all the extreme, adrenaline pumping activities, no matter where we are,” he shared.

In his opinion, it was up there as “one of the best trips we’ve ever had”.

“We spent our days surfing, rock climbing, deep-sea fishing, riding ATVs, and taking in some incredible scenery. Even chucked in a crazy plane ride through the lightning,” Hemsworth added.

In the video, Hemsworth filmed throughout a “life-threatening plane ride”, riding in the aircraft during a storm.

He was shocked by lightning strikes – proof that while his Marvel character Thor can control thunder and lightning, he’s not so lucky in real life.

At one point, he appeared to mouth “what the f---” as he reacted to the bumpy ride.

Other highlights from the holiday included his sons jumping from cliffs into the water below, and daughter India scaling a cliff wall at sunset.

In one fun moment, wife Elsa Pataky, 50, pushed her unsuspecting husband into the water as their kids cliff-dive from above.

Hemsworth labelled the footage as just “a few of the highlights from my camera roll”.

“Hope you enjoy it, and maybe it inspires you to get out there and make some memories with the people you love,” he said.

“Thanks for coming along.”

The family trip came before Hemsworth began filming Extraction 3, the third instalment of his Netflix action-thriller franchise, on the New South Wales South Coast this month.

When they aren’t filming or enjoying far-flung corners of the globe, Hemsworth, Pataky and their kids live in Byron Bay.

The superstar couple wed within three months of being set up by their agents in 2010, with Hemsworth crediting their long-lasting marriage to “fun”.

On Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, the Thor actor said, “having an adventurous spirit, and making time for one another” was essential for a long-lasting bond.
