‘For the love of god Brooklyn Beckham, what are you doing?’

Opinion: Brooklyn Beckham is actually making me feel sick.

It was astounding when he released that infamous statement slamming his parents over a petty feud that started over a wedding dress. It was just as gross when he accused his 14-year-old sister Harper of being part of a “choreographed” publicity stunt just for delivering a letter to his home.

But now, it seems he’s made his most infuriating move to date – trying to monetise his family drama for his own financial benefit.

Yes, the very thing he accused his parents of doing while happily using the Beckham name for his countless career endeavours.

Everyone knows David Beckham’s number one passion – aside from his family – is football. He’s played in three FIFA World Cups; 1998 in France, 2002 in South Korea/Japan, and 2006 in Germany.

He will no doubt be cheering on his beloved England when they play later this week, and has been spotted at multiple games with his beloved wife Victoria.

That’s why it was so deeply shocking when today, Brooklyn dropped a commercial for a food delivery app – for which he was no doubt paid thousands – in which he quips: “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home… it’s a long story.”

We bet it is, Brooklyn.

Sure, executing a mammoth ad campaign centred around the World Cup – an event you could have been watching in a stadium with your mum and dad – could be chalked up to wild coincidence. Perhaps this advert was years in the making when the family were on good terms.

Or, perhaps he’s using a calculated piece of clickbait to highlight the family rift without actually saying it, all for a quick buck?

David and Victoria have flat out refused to answer questions about the feud. David was asked publicly about it just days ago while he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – which Brooklyn missed – and he called it a “private matter”.

He took the time to praise his kids, as he always does. Victoria has done the same.

I get we don’t know the full story; we probably never will. Family feuds can be very ugly, and that can’t be ignored.

But for the love of god, Brooklyn, wake up. The absolute worst thing about this advert is his smug giggle at the end, knowing the sheer pain this is causing every member of his family.

You landed this commercial for one reason and one reason only: you are the son of one of the greatest footballers on earth.

Get a grip, enjoy the privacy you claim to crave so much, and stop selling out your own flesh and blood.
