Bradley Cooper opens up about caring for his 80-year-old mother in quarantine: 'If she gets it, it's over'

Bradley Cooper has been prioritising his family amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The A Star Is Born actor, 45, opened up about how he's been coping with being in quarantine and caring for his 80-year-old mother Gloria Campano.

"I'm with my daughter and my mother and my two dogs, and we have not left the house. My mother is going to be 80, and she has a colostomy bag, so I can't let anybody in the house," he told Anthony Ramos in a recent piece for Interview magazine. "And I can't leave the house, because if she gets it, it's over.

"We live in a little townhouse, thankfully there's a backyard. I'm running a one-man preschool. We get up, we do swim class in the bathtub."

Campano regularly accompanied Cooper to star-studded events like the Oscars, the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Tony Awards.

Cooper, who shares three-year-old daughter Lea with Irina Shayk, seemed to share the details of his life in quarantine a few months ago based on recent photographs. In the last month, Cooper was spotted with Jennifer Garner in Los Angeles after reports she had split from boyfriend John Miller.

"Jen and John remain on friendly terms so there's a possibility that they could rekindle their relationship in the future, but right now it's over," a source told In Touch Weekly.

Family has always been a priority for Cooper. In 2011, the actor moved in with his family prior to his father dying from lung cancer.

"My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us. It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped. And we need each other. So here we are… it's not like I live in a compound and [my mum is] in the guesthouse. No, she's in the next room," he previously told the Los Angeles Times. "But here's the thing: she's a cool chick. We can hang, and she can roll with the punches."
