Brad Pitt has started drinking again after seven years of sobriety, with the actor revealing that he’s “off the wagon” in a recent interview.
But the 62-year-old Oscar winner’s decision is something that just “feels right for him” because he knows when to stop now.

“This is a very personal decision that’s unique to Brad and his own circumstances,” a source told Page Six.
According to the source, Pitt has spent a lot of time reflecting on his relationship with alcohol and said he felt comfortable making a different choice.
“For him, that means moderation and being very conscious of his limits,” they added.
“He knows what those limits are and understands that drinking in moderation requires a level of discipline and self-awareness.”

The source added that drinking again doesn’t change what he learned during his seven years of sobriety.
“This is simply the decision he feels is right for him at this point in his life, and he’s committed to being responsible about it,” they added.
The F1 star’s end of his sobriety was first revealed during a wide-ranging interview with Esquire which was released earlier this week.
Pitt offered the interviewer a glass of wine during the sit-down chat at the actor’s Los Angeles home, which is when the topic of his sobriety journey was questioned.

“No, I got – I was sober for seven years. And then I got back off the wagon,” he replied.
But the Babylon star explained that he now drinks in a “more restrained manner” after learning that going too far doesn’t work for him.
“I got overconfident a couple times, went, ‘Yep, nope, not good for me,’” he said, adding he does not drink “in big quantities.”
For Pitt, he said he “can have a few” drinks now, but he looks at it like needing to be professional about it.

Pitt began his sobriety journey in 2016, after his ex-wife Angeline Jolie filed for divorce following an alleged drunken argument on the former couple’s private plane.
The pair were caught up in an eight-year legal battle, only settling their divorce in 2024. They are still tied up in a contentious legal battle over their French winery, Château Miraval.
The former couple also share six children, Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 18.
