Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s $233m winery threatened by wildfires amid legal battle
The $233 million winery at the centre of a bitter legal battle between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is under threat from devastating wildfires.
Aerial pictures obtained by TMZ on Friday show smoke from the fires sweeping across France edging dangerously close to Château Miraval, which is located in the village of Correns close to the Provence region.

However, it appears the area remains unharmed thus far.
The publication reports that firefighters are using helicopters and trucks to battle the nearby flames with water used from a private lake on the property.
A legal battle between Jolie and Pitt regarding Château Miraval has been in existence since the actress first filed for divorce in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences.
The couple had purchased Château Miraval for $28.4 million in 2008; it’s where Pitt proposed to Jolie and eventually where the duo married in secret.
After their divorce, Pitt sued Jolie in February 2022 over the sale of her shares of the French vineyard.
Nouvel, a company founded by the Maleficent actress, reportedly filed a $US250 million (approx. 369.3 million) lawsuit in September 2022 against the Bullet Train star.
The claim alleged Pitt “masterminded a so-far-successful plan to seize control of” Château Miraval.
The company also accused Pitt of “waging a vindictive war” against Jolie after she filed for divorce in 2016.
The messy legal battle is still ongoing, despite the couple’s divorce being finalised in December 2024.

Earlier this week, it was reported that George Clooney and his wife Amal had to evacuate their home in Brignoles, a town in the Southeast of France, with their nine-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.
The couple purchased the 172-hectare Domaine de Canadel in 2021 for around $USD8.3 million (approximately $11.9 million), eventually making the property their primary residence.
According to People, the family wrote a letter to Brignoles Mayor Didier Brémond addressing the devastation across Europe.

“Dear Didier, at this point we have no idea whether our beautiful home makes it through this terrible moment,” the letter began.
“As we evacuate Brignoles we want to emphasise two things, first we hope you and the people of our city are safe and second that Amal and I are committed to making sure that whatever happens to our village, we are part of this community and we’ll be part of making it whole.
“We love Brignoles and our friends who live there.”
