Brandi Glanville reveals disturbing diagnosis: ‘Finally ready to tell you’

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Brandi Glanville has revealed the full extent of her medical issues just one day after detailing she’d discovered “something alive” and “moving” in her face.

Glanville, 53, explained she is preparing to undergo facial surgery to remove a fungal ball in her face as she battles several bacterial infections and facial mites.

“I’m finally ready to tell you what I’ve actually been fighting and to start sharing some of my worst moments leading up to finally getting diagnosed,” she wrote on an Instagram post.

“I’ve been diagnosed with highly resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter with biofilm, Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever), Demodex dermatitis and Mononucleosis.”

Biofilm production in ESBL-producing Klebsiella and Enterobacter can create antibiotic resistance, making bacterial infections harder to treat, according to the US National Institute of Health.

Coccidioidomycosis,also known as Valley Fever, is a fungal lung infection. It comes from inhaling spores of fungus that grow in soil and dirt in parts of the Southwestern United States, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Meanwhile, Demodex dermatitis is a facial mite that lives in the oil glands of hair follicles. It can cause itchy skin, textured skin, inflammation and redness.

Mononucleosis, also known as glandular fever, is a viral infection that is usually caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), according to Health Direct.

It causes symptoms like sore throat, fever, severe fatigue and nausea.

“I also have a fungal ball in my face that needs to be removed,” Glanville continued.

“I have to get the metals from old dental work out of my mouth, my breast implants need to come out, and I’m looking at 4–6 months of daily IV treatment.”

The reality star’s health updatecame one day after she revealed that an ultrasound technician discovered there was “something alive” in her face and “it was moving”.

“She [the ultrasound technician] had never seen anything like it, and the radiologist agreed,” Glanville said.

“So yeah, if I don’t find a radiologist to come cut this out of my face, I’m gonna do it myself.”

She explained that she is struggling to eat due to her hours-long IV treatments.

“I know I’m so skinny right now. I can’t eat because the IVs that I do, decrease my food. I feel like death, I look like death,” she said in the video.

The reality star explained one treatment called Imipenem, which she uses overnight, makes it “difficult” to sleep.

She added that a nurse comes over daily to help her with her treatments, which takes 18-hours in total.

“I really don’t get along with my nurse at all,” she confessed. “We fight.”

In the video, her IV treatments were seen laid out on her kitchen island.

“For the first time, I’m showing you what my life has really looked like behind closed doors,” she captioned the video. “The treatments. The IVs. The exhaustion. The days nobody saw.”

“I haven’t been ready to talk about all of it publicly, and there’s still a lot I’m not ready to share yet. This is only one minute of a much bigger story.”

She initially thought that she had contracted a parasite while filming Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip in Morocco; however, she later found out that the issue had stemmed from her breast implants.

While one implant had only a slow leak, the other was completely ruptured. It caused silicone to coat her lymph nodes.

“I just want to cut my face open and take it out,” she said in the Instagram reel.

“So now I have to start my IVs, I mean I’m on IVs almost 20 hours a day. The only time I leave my house is to do my podcast.”

In a second video detailing her medical journey, she said she “never thought” this would “become her life.”

“I know everyone wants to know exactly what I’m dealing with. I’m not ready to share that part just yet. But I am ready to start showing you what it’s taken to get here. This is my reality right now.
