‘I was nude’: Inside Andy Lee’s outrageous surprise bucks party

Andy Lee has spilled the details of his bucks night party, thrown by his long-time friend and radio co-host Hamish Blake.

Lee, 45, revealed that the bucks night came as a complete surprise, especially because it fell on the same day that his AFL team – Carlton – was playing in the Wildcard round.

While speaking to Triple M’s Mick in the Morning, host Mick Molloy asked Lee where he was sitting when Carlton claimed their victory, when he revealed he was actually nowhere near the MCG.

“So, what part of the MCG were you in to watch a famous victory in a historically significant moment?” Mick asked.

“I haven’t told anyone this yet, and it hasn’t gotten out yet. Hamish threw a surprise bucks party for me on Saturday!” Lee replied.

“It had been planned for months. He had his own challenges because Melbourne had made it. Hamish never puts work into anything! So, I did watch the game, but I wasn’t anywhere near the MCG… I was an hour away.

“Hamish had [predicted] Melbourne outside of the Wildcard Round, [assuming] they would be top six, and Carlton wouldn’t make it! I had the best day. It didn’t matter.”

Lee went on to explain that Blake, along with 30 close mates, were waiting for him in the basement of his newly renovated home.

He arrived at 10am after a phone call from his builder, who said there was a “long-list” of things to go through on-site.

“I got there and he said, ‘Let’s start in the basement.’ But I wanted to talk about the side-fence,” he explained.

“Little did I know that 30 of my mates are hiding in the basement, so they had to wait for me go past the side-fence and explain [my issues].

“I got into the basement, and all the boys were there; they were all dressed as different versions of me throughout my life.”

He said his mates “handed him a beer” and the group “piled onto the bus” headed for the Carlton Footy Club where he had a footy kicking completion with Carlton players Jesse Motlop and Ashton Moir.

“There were a few punishments if I lost to them, which happened. It was stage one of fifteen stages: Hamish being a creative fellow,” Lee said.

“I won’t give away any more, except there was a part where I was nude with a Melbourne Stars helmet on and had 20 boys with real golf clubs and golf balls hitting towards me as I did a run across the golf course.”

“But we paused, we watched the game, and what a game!”

While he kept most of the details under-wraps, it definitely seems like Lee – and Hamish – had a great time.

Lee is set to marry Rebecca Harding in the coming months. The pair were engaged in 2024 after being together for ten years.
