They recently hit a big milestone, being able to stand on level one of their new house build for the first time.

Well, it was the first time for one of them.

"What I haven't told Bec is that I snuck out and have already looked at it," Andy revealed, before a video showed him sneakily visiting the site days earlier.

Rather than come clean, he took a different route.

"I am going to pretend that everything is new and hopefully my acting skills are up to scratch," he said.

It didn't get off to a good start as Bec wondered if an arch was new since her last visit.

"You haven't seen the arch, I mean I haven't seen the arch either!" Andy said.

Suspicious.

His acting chops improved as they made it to the main event.

"Oh my God, it's incredible," Andy said as they, or just Bec, stepped onto the "upper ground floor" for the first time.

"I'm just in shock," Bec said, as Andy shared a quick "same".

Afterwards, Andy felt like he got away with it … but obviously not any more, as the video was posted to their joint Instagram account documenting the build.

"It's always lovely when we get to see new spaces together for the first time.... It's always lovely, but it doesn't always happen," they captioned the hilarious clip.

We will wait patiently for Bec's payback!

Andy shares what their finished house will look like

This has been a long build and it seems there's still a way to go!

But if you're keen to skip ahead and see what Andy and Bec's hard work will look like in the end, you're in luck.

Andy has shared renders of the completed design, including the unique finish they've chosen to clad the back of their new build.

The original historic house will sit proudly on its own and will be restored, whereas the new structure will be their home, overlooking the river views.

The two will be connected by a underground tunnel!

"I've decided to clad the newer build with an oxidised copper like The Statue of Liberty is, so it's kind of greeny blue," Andy revealed.

"It will feel a lot more warmth and hopefully disappear into the sky," like you can see in the digital render above.

"So that's what you'll see if you look back from the heritage house," he explained. "From the river side, this is what they're hoping to achieve, which I think is magic."

"I mean they've nailed it. They've hit the point that we want to honour the old and enjoy the new and Bec just lost her marbles when she saw this."

The historic house house Andy's and Bec's offices and a guest suite, while the new structure will be their day-to-day home, overlooking the Yarra river views.

In that time the building team has done demolition work, excavation and even got started on the space where Andy will have his very own golf simulator.

It's no doubt a very special place for the pair with Andy even proposing to Bec at the home in May 2024.
