Watch: Amy Slaton reveals her post-surgery results for the first time on 1000-Lb Sisters

When 1000-Lb Sisters Amy and Tammy Slaton started their weight loss journey they started it together.

That's still the case, but they're not progressing at the same rate.

In an episode of 1000-Lb Sisters – which you can watch for free on 9Now – Amy found herself at a crossroads when she was approved for lifechanging gastric bypass surgery and Tammy wasn't.

"Seeing the look on Tammy's face, it filled me with dread because we were supposed to do this together," Amy said of the moment her sister realised she'd been rejected for the surgery.

While Tammy said, "I'm used to being left behind, I'm used to seeing Amy move on without me."

Despite her mixed feelings, Amy pushed through with the surgery.

You can see the sisters' emotional last phone call before surgery in the video below.

Two months on from her surgery, Amy was ready to reveal her transformation to her family.

"For the past two months, I've been working on my food addiction," Amy said.

"I has gotten a lot better and I haven't had a soda since my surgery."

With most of her family having not seen her since before the surgery, Amy was "nervous" to see what they would think about "the new her".

Jaws dropped as Amy stepped foot through the door 100 pounds (45kg) lighter.

And despite having felt left behind a few months earlier, sister Tammy was proud as punch.

"When I started this journey I was 406 pounds, now I'm 306 pounds. I still have a long way to go but I'm really proud of myself," Amy beamed.

Amy and Tammy have had a difficult relationship with their mum Darlene, but even she was chuffed for Amy.

"I'm proud of Amy for losing 100 pounds, she surprised me," Darlene said.

And having her mum's support meant the world to Amy.

But there was one more person she wanted to thank for being her "backbone" and that was her sister Tammy.
