Woman accused of helping gunman escape after innocent Sydney man killed
Police allege a woman kept watch for a gunman and helped him escape after innocent Sydney man Joshua McDonald was shot dead in broad daylight.
McDonald, 40, was gunned down in the driveway of a Merrylands West home on September 2 in a suspected case of mistaken identity.

Now, more than two weeks after his death, a 28-year-old woman has been charged over her alleged role in the killing.
Detectives arrested the woman at a Wollongong unit on Friday afternoon, with police alleging she kept watch for the gunman and helped with their escape.
McDonald was at the Bruce Street property about 3.15pm when he was shot.
Neighbours reported hearing up to eight gunshots fired in quick succession before a car drove away, leaving McDonald critically wounded in the driveway.
Paramedics treated him at the scene, but he could not be saved.
Police have said McDonald had no links to organised crime.
The 28-year-old woman was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder, participating in a criminal group and failing to comply with a digital evidence access order.

She was refused bail and is due to face Bail Division Local Court 3 today.
An 18-year-old man has also been charged over McDonald’s death and remains before the courts.
McDonald was one of two innocent men killed in suspected cases of mistaken identity in Sydney earlier this month.
Marco Tapia, 23, was also shot dead within 48 hours of McDonald’s killing.
Investigations into both deaths are continuing.
