Woman stabbed to death in rural city
A young woman has been stabbed to death and a teenager has been arrested after a dramatic morning at a home in NSW’s Riverina region.
Emergency services went to a home on Ziegler Avenue in Kooringal, a suburb of Wagga Wagga, before midday on Saturday after receiving reports that a woman had been stabbed.
When they arrived, they found a 23-year-old woman, but despite performing CPR, they could not save her, and she died at the home.
Police were told a man had left the home before the arrival of emergency services, and an 18-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.
No charges have been laid.
The man and the woman are believed to be known to each other.
A crime scene has been established, and police have begun their investigations.
Police are urging anyone with information or footage relevant to the stabbing to come forward.
More to come.
