Body found in forest believed to be man reported missing from NSW Mid North Coast

The body of a man located in a state forest near NSW's Mid North Coast is believed to be a man who went missing on Sunday.

The body was found in Bago State Forest near Wauchope earlier today.

A wide-scale search had been underway for a 48-year-old man who was reported missing from Brombin on December 21.

Following the search, the body of a man, believed to be that of a missing man, was located near a bogged 4WD in the forest shortly after 4pm yesterday.

A post-mortem examination is set to be conducted in the coming days to determine the identity and cause of death.
