Jeffrey Epstein had connections to the upper levels of both American and Israeli intelligence agencies, Vice President JD Vance has claimed.

Vance made the revelation during an interview on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

In a nearly three-hour interview, Vance spoke at length about the Epstein investigation.

Rogan directly asked Vance if he thought Epstein was in Mossad, the Israeli spy agency.

“Yeah, Mossad or CIA or some other deep state,” Vance said.

“He clearly had connections to the highest levels of American intelligence.

“He clearly had connections to the highest levels of Israeli intelligence.”

The vice president did not offer any information to back up his claims, and it is difficult to tell if he is speaking based on hard evidence.

“Epstein seemed to be connected to the elements of the Israeli deep state that were left of centre,” Vance added.

“It wasn’t like he was super connected to the right of centre of Israeli politics.

“America, he was connected across the board.”

He did not go into details about Epstein’s connections to the Israeli left, though he did have a friendship with former prime minister Ehud Barak.

Earlier in the podcast, Vance spoke candidly of his administration’s mishandling of the Epstein files.

“We absolutely screwed up the comms of the Epstein files,” Vance.

“But do I think the reason we screwed up the comms was because we were hiding something? No.”

He criticised ousted attorney-general Pam Bondi for claiming she had the Epstein files on her desk.

“I think Pam was trying to respond to the political moment. I think she overstated what we had and didn’t have,” he said.

He described himself as a conspiracy theorist on the Epstein files.

In the interview, Vance also spoke of an Israeli government-backed campaign to undermine US negotiations with Iran.

“You have seen this very discreet, extremely well-funded campaign to try to derail the negotiation and try to derail the deal,” he said.

He cited an article published in Time yesterday that spoke of an influence campaign by former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale.

“It lists a bunch of people who have quite literally been paid by a former Trump campaign person who was himself paid by certain elements within the Israeli government,” Vance said.

“And those people are attacking me viciously for quite literally trying to accomplish the negotiation objective that the president set for the country.”

Vance and Rogan then veered into a discussion on other conspiracy theories, including UFOs and plane hijacker DB Cooper.

They also spoke at length on the existence of angels and demons.

The Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files was put under a renewed spotlight during the confirmation hearing for acting attorney-general Todd Blanche.

At the hearing, Blanche attempted to steer the blame towards the Biden administration.

“The Biden administration did nothing to be transparent about the Epstein case,” he said.

“We have been extraordinarily transparent in not only producing the records but letting unredacted versions be available to anybody in this body.”

Democrats are pushing to block Blanche from taking on the cabinet position in a permanent capacity.

“Like his predecessor, Todd Blanche has refused to release the full Epstein files,” Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley said.

“He will continue the White House cover-up to protect Donald Trump. That’s why the Senate must reject his nomination.

“Survivors deserve better.”
