Body of missing kayaker found in Avalon

The body of a missing kayaker has been found in an inlet near Geelong.

A 60-year-old man from East Geelong was reported missing about 1.30pm on Saturday after his unoccupied kayak was found floating close to Limeburners Bay in Corio.

Water police, Air Wing, SES volunteers and Marine Search and Rescue launched a search, which led to the discovery of a body.

The body was found in the water off Avalon Road in Avalon, about 50 kilometres from Melbourne, at 6.50pm on Saturday.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be prepared by the coroner.
