Nick Pearson writes about American politics and how it impacts on ordinary Australians. Covering every US election cycle since 2012, Pearson has seen the way Washington has changed dramatically in recent years. Pearson speaks to experts across the political spectrum and uses his own expertise to write unslanted news on a topic where partisanship runs rife. He also has a long history writing about Australian politics, North Korea, global affairs and international conflicts. His regular column Today in History is a mainstay on nine.com.au and one of the most popular features at the site.

Pearson began working at what was then ninemsn in 2009, beginning as an associate producer. From there he was promoted to senior journalist, homepage lead and 9News digital engagement and audience lead. An investigative series which involved Pearson re-sitting his Year 12 exams a decade later without any preparation drew national attention.

Before joining Nine Entertainment, Pearson worked as a journalist with The Area News in Griffith, NSW. He hosted radio programs at 2MCE-FM in Bathurst and Triple U FM in Nowra. 

Education

Nick Pearson has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Journalism) at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst. In that time he served as editor of student newspaper Interpellator.
