'They are trying to steal the election': Trump accuses Biden after neck-and-neck battle for presidency
President Trump has accused Joe Biden and the Democrats of attempting to "steal" the US election after a long night of counting resulted in no clear winner thus far.
Taking to Twitter after Democrat nominee Joe Biden spoke publicly, Trump said the Republicans were up "big", before attempting to delegitimise the electoral process.

"We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the election. We will never let them do it," Mr Trump said.
"Votes cannot be cast after the Poles (sic) are closed!"
Trump then said he would also be making a statement tonight, "A big WIN!".

Democratic nominee Joe Biden earlier said he believes he is on track to win the US election, but it will take days for every vote to be counted.
Making a surprise announcement after a long night of counting, Biden said he was optimistic of winning the election and called for patience while every vote from every voter is counted.

"Your patience is commendable. We knew this was going to go on, but who knew we were going to go into maybe tomorrow morning, maybe even longer," Biden said.
"I am here to tell you tonight that we believe we are on track to win this election."

The four states the election is likely to come down to
ARIZONA
Arizona has traditionally been a "red state", meaning it has been held by the republicans. Arizona has not voted for a Democratic candidate for president since Bill Clinton won in 1996.If Arizona falls to Joe Biden it may be a critical turning point that seems him secure the presidency.Fox News has already called Arizona for the Democrats.
PENNSYLVANIA
Many think of Pennsylvania as the ultimate swing state - whoever secures it could take a majority at the electoral college.
Many say that Trump cannot win without it."This is the most important state this election cycle," CNN's Harry Enten wrote in an analysis of close contests yesterday.
Due to its prominence, Pennsylvania has been the source of targeted misinformation - thousands of tweets have been deleted after sharing false voter fraud.
MICHIGAN
Michigan has traditionally been a Democrat state for almost 25 years.Today it hangs in the balance.Joe Biden has taken an early lead but Donald Trump has campaigned heavily in the state, holding as many as five rallies.
WISCONSIN
Wisconsin was one of a handful of traditionally blue states that Donald Trump managed to "flip" in 2016.
If he does the same this year, it could prove handy in helping him to establish a majority.
Early polls show Joe Biden taking a narrow lead.
