Cool Trump wins big in clutch Ohio vote
President Donald Trump has won the crucial state of Ohio, surging to victory over Democratic hopeful Joe Biden who had led the count early.
With about 90 per cent of the vote counted, Mr Trump leads Mr Biden by about 450,000 votes, 53.3 per cent to 45.2 per cent.
No Republican has won the presidency in modern times without winning Ohio.

By winning Ohio, Mr Trump has picked up 18 electoral college votes.
Pollsters had tipped Ohio could go either way. It was also believed that Ohio was especially vital for Mr Trump's chances of winning a second term.
Earlier today Mr Biden had jumped out to a comfortable lead in Ohio.
But Mr Trump roared back into contention and has only widened the gap as more votes are tallied.
In the 2016 election, Mr Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in Ohio by 51.6 per cent to 43.5 per cent.
Mr Biden has performed strongly in Ohio's urban areas, with Mr Trump scoring the rural vote.
