Experience

Stuart Marsh has been a journalist for 15 years, covering everything from breaking news to business and economics and men’s lifestyle.

He enjoys the pace and frantic nature of covering stories that impact Australians at their core, and has honed a news sense aimed squarely at writing and producing content that impacts the lives and lifestyles of ordinary people.

Stuart started his media career in print, working across several automotive and men’s lifestyle titles at Express Media Group such as Modern Fishing, Australian 4WD Action, Caravan & Motorhome and more.

From there, he moved into digital media, starting as a reporter at health and fitness site 9Coach, a brand under the ninemsn umbrella. Here, Stuart wrote about everything from the carnivore diet to HIIT workouts and everything in between.

In March 2017, Stuart became the youngest-ever editor of 9Finance, having previously worked for nine.com.au’s health and fitness site 9Coach.

Stuart took 9Finance from the fifth most-read digital business site to the second, according to Nielsen’s digital ratings. Despite being a one-man team, 9Finance once boasted more readers than The Australian Business Review, The Guardian’s business section and the Herald Sun’s business coverage.

For this, he was named Mumbrella’s Under 30 High Achiever for 2018.

In 2019 Stuart became a Senior Reporter for 9News.com.au, covering crime, business, politics and breaking news. In November 2022 he was promoted to Morning Editor, where he oversaw a team of journalists covering Australian news and establishing the news agenda for the network as the day progressed.

Education

Stuart holds a Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies, Majoring in Journalism, University of New South Wales (2010-2013).

Awards

In August 2018 Stuart was named the Mumbrella Under 30 High Achiever of the Year.
