An estimated 1.8 billion Muslims across the globe are marking the end of Ramadan with Eid al-Fitr today.
Eid is a celebration commemorating the end of the holy month, also referred to as Ramadan, which is a time of fasting, prayer and reflection for Muslims worldwide.
The religious event starts with a large community prayer in the morning, followed by a shared meal with family.
