Premiere date for This Time Next Year Series 2 revealed

Karl Stefanovic will be back on our screens from Monday, August 12, when the second series of This Time Next Year launches.

In the inspirational and feelgood show, everyday Australians set themselves the challenge of changing their lives by 'this time next year'. It could be trying to find love or overcoming a setback. The nature of the show means it takes over a year to film, even though viewers see the changes play out in an instant.

Stefanovic — who only learns of how the Aussies have fared the moment they walk back in a year later — has admitted to getting emotional during filming.

"I'm really proud and excited to be hosting series two of This Time Next Year," he said in a statement. "I've met some truly inspiring Australians who will warm the hearts of viewers by pledging to reach huge personal goals in just one year."

The seasoned host teased some of the stories we can expect to see.

"We have a whole new group of contributors as diverse as a 101-year-old woman who wants to learn to fly, a wheelchair-bound mum who dreams of running in the backyard with her five-year-old son, and a woman who wants to medically transition to being a man," he said.

"This Time Next Year is an absolute joy to work on, and I'm not going to lie, I shed a tear or two."

This Time Next Year premieres Monday, August 12 at 8.40pm on Nine.
