Jessica Chandra

Experience

Jessica has over 15 years of experience working in digital media, with a background in entertainment and lifestyle journalism.

Jessica started at Nine in April 2018 and has held various roles before becoming nine.com.au’s audience editor.

Her first role at Nine was as the editor of TheFIX (now known as nine.com.au Entertainment), where she oversaw celebrity and entertainment content for nine.com.au. In addition to writing and editing, she interviewed stars including the Queer Eye Fab Five, Dev Patel, Jason Momoa, Phoebe Tonkin and Taron Egerton.

In July 2019 she became the site’s first entertainment editor, where she led the content strategy for the official sites of Channel Nine’s TV shows, such as Married At First Sight, The Block, Love Island Australia and more.

Her keen interest in numbers as an editor led her to the audience editor role, a position she has held since March 2022.

Before joining Nine, Jessica started her career at POPSUGAR Australia, where she covered breaking celebrity news and interviewed the likes of Margot Robbie, Steve Carell and Angelina Jolie, and almost every Aussie reality show contestant on TV at the time. She finished up as the site’s managing editor after six years. She was also the online news and entertainment editor for Cosmopolitan, ELLE and Harper’s BAZAAR.

Education

Jessica graduated with a BA Communications (Writing and Cultural Studies) from the University of Technology Sydney in 2009.

Awards and Recognition 

In 2023 Jessica was a finalist at the inaugural Mediaweek Next of the Best Under 40 Awards in the Publishing category.
