You won't believe what these benches are made from

While 3D printing is changing design forever, one furniture maker isn't ready to write off traditional paper just yet. He's just using it in a different way.

Netherlands-based Woojai Lee transformed newspaper pulp and a little glue in to a polished, brick-like material called 'Paperbricks'. He then stacked them together to build two coffee tables and a bench. All of which function as intended, in fact the bricks are as solid as the traditional clay and shale mix but far more eco-friendly.

Managing to maintain the quality of the paper was integral. Too much pulping and it loses that elegant marble-like effect, so the process was kept as streamlined as possible. Pretty impressive, eh?
