Why Blockheads had painted nails at auction

During the recent Block finale, you may have noticed our Blockheads were donning painted blue nails, leaving many scratching their heads.

Witnessing that it was only on our male Blockheads, the contestant’s nails represent an organisation called Polished Man. The goal of the Melbourne based charity is raise awareness of and help prevent violence against children.

“One child dies every five minutes as a result of violence,” they say in a statement taken from their website.

During the month of October, men from all over the world have donned a painted nail, joining the charities cause. Actors Chris Hemsworth and Zac Efron are just two of the many names who have joined the fight.

As we are nearing the end of October the campaign is almost over but the fight never ends for this cause. As of today the Melbourne based organisation has raised over one million dollars towards ending the epidemic with all funds “channelled into trauma recovery and trauma prevention programs for children or provide emergency relief to those that have survived physical and/or sexual violence.”
