When the Block homes arrived at Elsternwick, tired and narrowly avoiding demolition, they were given names. These names indicated where they originated from and embracing that nod to history, the Blockheads (mostly) chose fresh but sentimental, nostalgic names for the newly restored homes.

Alice from Domain confirmed that homes that have names tend to sell. “There was research done a couple of years ago that houses with a name sell better than houses without a name,” she shares. Domain advises that adding a name also boosts buyer’s feelings about the property, explaining it adds an aura and importance to the house, along with creating a talking point and unique value.
