Meet Instagram’s favourite potter

In terms of social media stars in the world of homewares, Copenhagan ceramicist Tortus Copenhagen, also known as Eric Landon, is up there. With an Instagram following that’s 552k strong, the potter regularly shares videos of his making process and takes followers behind the scenes of his idyllic studio located in the heart of Copenhagen. 

Nominated as "Craftsman of the Year" for Danmark's Design Awards 2015, the potter’s mesmerising clay spinning regularly goes viral (some reaching 260k in views).

His Instagram stardom has also garnered the Milwaukeean-born potter an allegiance of followers from around the world flocking to learn his skills, despite often not speaking the same language, and become a platform to call out for apprentices, stating "they must be willing to live in Copenhagen for 1-2 years." Sounds like a sweet gig. 

In his latest video above, Landon throws 10kg of clay onto a wheel and spins it into a vase in under 15 minutes— and makes it look easy naturally.
