The Block: The Gatwick Hotel facade has been revealed

As filming for The Block wraps, the façade on The Gatwick Hotel has been revealed now that scaffolding has come down from the 2018 season's site.

For the past two months, the controversial Gatwick Hotel site in Melbourne was being given The Block treatment.

It seems filming has wrapped, with the judges even posting Instagrams of a season well done.

While we can't see any of the interiors as yet, there is one development leaving fans excited for the impending 14^th season: the scaffolding has come down to reveal the façade of the former hotel.

Before

Run down and derelict, the old site needed some TLC to give it new life.

Executive producer Julian Cress assured those worried about the building’s iconic heritage elements that they'll be maintained throughout the renovations.

This included the outside of the building which was not expected to undergo substantial changes.

You can see from the images of the exterior that they stayed true to their word, with restoration more the focus than renovation. They've spruced things up with lovely planter boxes, too. 

However, there are some much-needed modern elements fused for the perfect combination of old-meets-new.

One substantial change is the addition of balconies or outdoor entertaining areas, a welcome feature to any potential buyer.

We can also spot some rather good looking industrial windows towards the top level.
