Watch The Block's Georgia turn a Gumtree sideboard into a statement piece

The Block's Ronnie and Georgia have plenty of tricks and tips for saving money during a budget renovation, and one of Georgia's favourites is upcycling.
On the second episode of Quick Room Flips, Georgia snags a vintage sideboard from Gumtree and gives it a total overhaul.
To match the modern Hamptons theme of the master bedroom she and Ronnie and renovating, Georgia needs to update the dated piece of furniture.
After applying tape the sideboard just needs a quick coat of paint Nine/Supplied
After a good clean, she simply uses tape to cover the areas where she wants to retain the original paint colour of the vintage sideboard.
Then a quick spray of white paint breathes new life into the piece.
Painting furniture is perfect when you're on a budget because the materials are easily accessible and it doesn't require much time or skill.
The piece now fits seamlessly in the space Nine/Supplied
The entire piece cost $350 - a fraction of what it would cost to buy a designer sideboard for the space.
Quick Room Flips sees Ronnie and Georgia help families from around Australia overhaul a room in their house for just $3,500 in 24 hours.
Each week Georgia finds a vintage piece of furniture which needs a quick update and upcycles it to match the room and stay within budget.
Once the sideboard is in the finished room it completely matches the new furniture. A few key decor pieces like some artworks help tie the whole space together.
