The Block 2018: The Gatwick is now officially open for inspection

The Block 2018’s apartments in The Gatwick are officially open for inspection today and ready to welcome the general public through their newly renovated rooms. 

The Gatwick in St Kilda has shaken off its shady past since welcoming in the cast and crew of The Block 2018, and the former hotel has now been transformed into a luxurious apartment block full of high-end homes.

And the crowds are already huge, with lines snaking down the street. Watch the video above to see Norm and Jess film the crowds from their penthouse balcony this morning and why Jess says "Oh my god, it's like you're the Queen!"

In fact, Norm and Jess are having quite a bit of fun with the crowds already, yelling out "why wouldn't ya!" and thanking people for their funny signs.

Each of the five apartments were recently listed on Domain, revealing the predicted prices the apartments will sell for at auction.

The apartments in Melbourne’s popular beach-side neighbourhood will range from $2.2 million at the lower end for Courtney and Hans’ apartment, up to $2.75 million at the highest end of the price range for Queensland couple Jess and Norm’s penthouse.

The Block's Open For Inspections event is taking place this weekend on Sunday October 7^th from 10am-2pm.

As well as getting the chance to peek inside the apartments that we’ve seen renovated in front of our very eyes on TV over the last month, those attending the Block's Open For Inspections event at The Gatwick will also get a chance to meet this year’s Blockheads.

Those planning on attending the event are advised to use public transport services and not to drive as road closures will be in place and the Open For Inspections day is always incredibly popular with locals and Block fans alike.

The Block's hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft, as well as foremen Keith Schleiger and Dan Reilly, will also be at the event to meet fans.
