Shaynna Blaze shows how to supercharge your space

Among all the talk of property prices it's easy to forget that there's more than one way your home has value. Making it truly your own will add a quality of life that money can't buy.

For most of us it is neither practical nor affordable to take a 'whole-house' approach to adding our own value. Therefore, it is best to figure out where you spend the most time, and focus there first.

Shaynna Blaze, host and designer on Nine's Buying Blind, says, "Stay in [your property] for a little while before you make too many changes, and work out how you like to live in the space."

Provided you start from a neutral colour base, additions like throws, cushions and pendant lighting can make an old room feel like new. These changes can be easily updated, too, meaning you can get a fresh look every few months if you choose.

Of course, getting the 'wow factor' from guests is its own reward.

"One of the most neglected spaces in your home is your entry, and your hallways," says Shaynna. "Make sure it's inviting!"
