Episode 15 recap: Site managers step in after tradie disaster forces team to rip up completed work

It’s a new day on The Block, but the teams are still being haunted by the sounds of last night.
Darren Palmer visited and offered more design advice, which this time involved colour.
When you’re told no colour, so you scrap all colour, only to them be told colour. Nine
The goal for everyone today is waterproofing their ensuite.
Friday is a public holiday, so it’s a must if they want to finish this week.
House 4 is making things extra complicated with a seat in its shower. They pitch it as allowing people to shower horizontally, which I think used to be known as a bath.
Courtney and her builder are optimistic. Foreman Dan is not. And GMac, well:
He’s totally onboard! Loves the idea! Nine
While House 2 is overflowing with expensive tradies Wyatt cannot afford, House 5 is a ghost town.
Rick’s plasterers haven’t turned up, his stress levels are through the roof and their room is falling further behind by the second.
That’s when Dan has a bright idea – have Tayla ask House 2’s plasterer.
The only complication is that they asked Chantel and Wyatt about it last night, got the OK and unbeknownst to them, had that OK retracted.
“I’m in a bad mood because you didn’t ask me if you could borrow my trades,” Wyatt tells her. Even though, technically, she did.
He thinks it’s a disrespectful move, so I wonder how she feels about this:
The passion! Nine
To lift Rick’s spirits, the McCafe baristas award him this week’s hardest worker title and a cool $5000.
He appreciates it so much he gets emotional!
Well, it’s either because of that or the fact Tayla finally found a plasterer.
Awwwww Rick!!! Nine
Next door, Courtney and Sev are talking about the B word again.
You wouldn’t believe it, but they’re over budget this week!
Things are so dire that Dan warns their landscaper extraordinaire Troy Lovett is going to want to jump ship, and Scott Cam has popped in for an emergency meeting.
As of today, they’ve spent $91,678 IN CASH, which will probably leave them with $140,000 at the end of the week, to cover five weeks of rooms and two weeks of landscaping.
Not. Good. Nine
It’s a brutal reality check for Sev, but Courtney thinks she’ll be right.
“We’ll find some money, we’ll rob a bank,” she reckons.
Right on cue, Troy’s on site to remind them how expensive he is.
“Last year we needed minimum cash of $100,000,” he says.
Troy doesn’t Lovett. Nine
Tayla, who hasn’t been deterred by Wyatt’s scolding earlier, watches on intently.
Then she pounces, asking Troy if he going to stay with House 4.
Watch this space.
Waterproof Tuesday is a big success for Chantel and Wyatt.
They’re so far ahead they leave the site early, while everyone else … doesn’t.
Back at the share house, it all becomes too much for Courtney.
Everyone else takes themselves off to bed while she and Adam have a D&M well into the night.
He’s all about showing support to anyone who needs it, but Jolene wants them to focus only on themselves.
Especially after she discovers that Courtney and Sev have started waterproofing, putting them well ahead of her progress.
So, she may be pleased to learn that their waterproofing is a disaster.
After a series of issues with their tradie, Courtney’s told to pull it up and start again.
Devo. Nine
It then fails round two’s inspection as well. There is not one corner of the room that can be passed.
It’s Rip Up Your Waterproof Wednesday!
Nine in Six jump in to help, using its powers to bring in the Cursios, much to the frustration of Chantel and Wyatt.
Tomorrow night, bring your popcorn – you know that’s going to come to a head!
