Han and Can's backyard brief was set before they were even accepted onto The Block.

A Japanese-inspired garden with Christan Jenkins was what they always dreamed of and it's what they delivered.

While the backyard is 'zen', the week leading up to Room Reveals wasn't.

Budget and time constraints meant that Han and Can's final result wasn't completely finished, with some elements being "a little undercooked".

Would the finishing touches make or break them or would the judges still see the vision?

On first impression Marty didn't like what he saw.

"This feels harsh. It has a lot of pavers and a lot of rock," he said.

"This is really hard for kids to run around, they can trip," Marty continued.

"It just feels harsh and buyers will feel that too."

But the other judges all thought Marty was too quick to judge.

Landscaper Dave reminded him that lots of the greenery had just been planted, and so they weren't getting the full effect that buyers would get come auction day when they plants had grown.

He explained that once that greenery came through it would really soften the "harshness" of all the hard surfaces.

Even the hard surfaces won Darren over.

He loved the natural edge of the stone and how organic it was.

"When the greenery comes through this like grout it's going to be really elegant."

While Darren understood Marty's concerns about kids running around, he didn't think Marty was looking in the right places.

Han and Can's greenery might not have been at the forefront of the yard, instead it was at the back and there was more than enough of it.

The boulders scattered around the backyard got a major shout out from the judges.

Shaynna said: "I love the boulders and all the plants that are around it, there'll be a lot of softness, and it becomes very ornamental.

"A lot of people do gravitate to that."

Marty started to warm up to the yard and agreed the boulders were "a hero".

Speaking of heroes, the judges couldn't get enough of the outdoor fireplace

Dave had never seen one like it in all his years landscaping.

Marty thought the fireplace was a game changer for the girls.

"This is a really good selling feature and Han and Can have nailed this from a real estate perspective because buyers will naturally congregate like we are."
