Trending: deconstructed kitchens

The latest kitchen design micro trend wants us to throw out all the rules as streamlined cupboards, minimalist finishes, and hidden appliances make way for haphazard finishes, open shelving and everything on display.

Like us, you might feel yourself being pulled into the allure of this rough-around-the-edges look, after all it looks totally bohemian and carefree. But be warned, pulling off this aesthetic often takes a degree of restraint (there's no cupboards to hide your junk behind) and planning (striking a balance between the aesthetic and functionality)!
