Recently Kim Kardashian West gave us a rare glimpse inside her home -- which she describes as "minimal monastery" -- in an appearance for Vogue's 73 Questions.

Fans began to notice a few unusual details about Kim's sprawling Calabasas mansion, like the fact there don't seem to be any doors inside the home.

But there was another feature that baffled the internet and it belongs in Kim and Kanye's ensuite bathroom.

From the video, it appeared that her huge island vanity sinks had the taps, but no basins.

People wondered if her bathroom was actually a chic science lab. Vogue Videos

After an influx of questions from baffled fans, Kim has taken to Instagram to explain how her bathroom sinks work:

"OK, since everyone is a little bit confused about our sinks, I thought I would just show you guys a little tour of our bathroom,” she says on her Instagram Stories.

She went on to explain that Kanye in fact helped draw and design the sinks, alongside designers Axel Vervoordt (who also did the entire home alongside Kanye) and Claudio Silvestrin.

The magic happens when Kim turns on the faucet. She shows, closer up, that the area of the countertop under the faucet gently curves downward toward a slit. Mystery solved.

“So, eight versions of this prototype sink was made. And it does actually like, slightly slope down. You can kinda see. And there’s a slit for the water. And it goes in. You can put it on as high pressure as you want and no backsplash will come up," she added about the unique drainage method.

Anything for the "minimal monastery" aesthetic.

In the tour, Kim also explains that their "whole bathroom ceiling is a light box." Nice. And we must admit, the showers look incredible.

But that's not the only uncommon interior feature she shows fans. Kim moves into the hallway to show off her light switches, which are embedded within the smooth white textured walls with no visible box.

"Something else I think is interesting are our light switches; they are just three little buttons" she says. "There's no box around it, which I think is really cool and more visually appealing."

Then it's time to head to the bedroom, where there is yet another surprise.

"Khloe thought that since I was showing you guys some tech stuff, I should show you my TV," Kim says as her automatic blinds close and a panel from her light wooden floors begins to rise.

The monster TV is 130 inch and placed right in front of the huge bed.

"It comes up and down, looks like the floor -- you can stand on top of it," Kim adds, with Khloe saying in the background "so cool!"

The house may look simple and furniture-less at first impression, but it's now clear this home has much more to it than meets the eye. Kind of like a metaphor for Miss Kardashian West herself.
