This home's inverted roof can be used as a swimming pool

Who among us hasn’t fantasised about whiling away the hours in a rooftop pool? Sounds like heaven, right?

Well, we’re here to take your daydreaming up a notch with this incredible concept home where the roof is a pool.

Whoa, what?

Yep, this epic future-focused home’s roof – aptly named Summer House - is inverted to form a basin, similar to a bathtub, which securely holds plenty of water for swimming slash lounging around with a drink or two.

Designed by the avant-garde collective Anti Reality, the incredible triangle-shaped home is designed to sit cliff side.

The pool roof/roof pool is accessed by a ladder on the exterior of the house, and has a special drainage system to control its water level.

“My goal was to create a reverse version of a roof that can be adapted as a swimming pool,” Anti Reality told Bored Panda.

“The roof structure is supported by 3 cores, two of them are the kitchen and bathroom, and this is where I was planning to adapt drainage pipes. It’s very idealistic but there is a logic behind the concept.”

This is just one of Anti Reality’s futuristic and imaginative designs.

They say Summer House was designed with seasonal recreation and weekends outside the city in mind.

“One of the key design intents was to create a building that would be completely open to the surroundings, providing the possibility to observe and engage in direct contact with nature.”
