IKEA launches relationship-saving initiative in the bedroom

If you've ever tossed and turned the night away because your partner hogs the doona or you're too hot, no wait, now you're too cold… you're in luck.

IKEA – famous for stressing out even the most loved-up couples (cheers, flat packs) – is launching a new duvet initiative that it says will help tired pairs get some much needed shut eye.

According to The Daily Mail, the Scandinavian furniture giant reckons Swedes sleep better because they prefer to have a duvet, or doona, each, often in the individual's preferred tog – a European rating system that measures warmth.

They suggest nearly 50 percent of us non-Swedes suffer interrupted sleep because our partners don't understand the concept of sharing, with women the worst affected by doona hogs suddenly exposing them to harsh elements in the middle of the night.

To help combat the dreaded lights-off shuffle to the couch, IKEA is selling two separate duvets in one bundle, saying, "Many of us find that not getting a good night's sleep is becoming a regular occurrence.

"This is why we have introduced this traditional Swedish sleep trend of using two single duvets instead of a double… allowing couples to select a duvet from the bundle that suits them."

Launching in the UK this week, the TOG-ehter bundle is not yet available in Australia, although we reckon it's only a matter of time before strung-out Aussie couples can get some sweet relief.
