Hippy in the city: How to deodorise your room naturally

Organic living has officially jumped ship into mainstream waters in terms of health and beauty. On the home front, companies are now slowly starting to take note of our desire for all things natural by moving towards organic materials, natural cleaning products and deodorisers — usually for an inflated price.

But if you are interested in scenting your living room totally naturally, and on the cheap, give these ideas a go.

SPOT IT

If you've just moved into a new place and the previous tenant's scent is still lingering, take a leaf from real estate agent's books and dot your favourite essential oil and on the light bulbs in every room. Once heated up from being on they'll diffuse scent.

AROMA DRY

Line-drying your sheets over using the drier will increase their sheety potency reach throughout your bedroom. Add a couple of drops of lavender or peppermint oil at the beginning of your wash for extra scent.

DIY SPRAY

You could drop a decent amount of cash on a room spritz, or you could fill a spray bottle with water and certified organic or third party certified natural essential oi and get spraying. Try a blend of Gardena, vanilla and cedar.

FRESH FUZZ

Saturate a cotton ball with and orange or lemongrass essential oil drop it into your vacuum cleaner bag. As you vacuum, the scent permeates into your carpet and through the room.

PLANT LIFE

More excuses starting an urban jungle in your living room. According to certain indoor plants improve air quality in your home and make the room smell fresh. AU NATUREL
