Hermès launches a luxury hardware store with quirky tool kits

Have you ever wished you could use a luxury hammer to drive a luxury nail though your broken shelf at home? Perhaps you have given up hope on gift ideas for the person who has everything? Enter Hermès: the iconic French heritage brand has launched a hardware store.

This month petit h, Hermès’ laboratory which  repurposes their items, opened La Quincaillerie, a bricks-and-mortar store to showcase its quirky Hardware collection.

Screwdrivers, hammers, brushes, tape measure, corkscrews and more – it’s all available to purchase for your DIY needs, whether that be patching up an everyday item or getting stuck into a bigger home project.

Walking into this fabulous handyman store is more like walking into an art gallery than a Bunnings. The objects are inspired by the Hermès way of life, including storage stools that close like the notorious Kelly bag.

Hermès petit h studio uses materials synonymous with the luxury brand (think supple leathers and handsome woods), and to that effect, all tools exude the craftsmanship we’ve come to expect (and love) from Hermès.

There really is no excuse for putting off those projects around the house any longer.

Staged in collaboration with designers Stefania Di Petrillo and Godefroy de Virieu, an array of utilitarian novelties will cover the shelves of the Hermès store at 17, rue de Sèvres, Paris until February 17.
