Robby and Mat made significant changes to their back of house floor plan, creating space for a European style laundry tucked away behind here.

It was a bold call – did it pay off?

Voilà! Here is the set-up hiding behind the doors.

While it technically contained everything needed in a laundry, the judges were perplexed by the decision.

Euro laundries are typically used to save space in apartments, but these houses are huge.

"It makes no sense," a confused Marty reacted.

At HQ, host Scott Cam said: "He thinks it looks lovely but for a home being used by families, this isn't enough."

"It is form before function," Darren agreed.

With such a small space, he predicted laundry to end up on the dining room table.

Shaynna didn't think the doors were functional and predicted a broken one pretty quickly, especially as the washing machine opened into them.

What the Euro laundry did do was free up space for a massive pantry, and boy did the boys use it!

There is a lot of storage space around here, as well as a detail the judges wished they'd seen in every house...

Another fridge!

While the main fridge was in the kitchen, Marty had been hoping to see the extra amenity of one in the butler's pantries too.

Only two houses delivered on that, and House 5 went above and beyond with a freezer as well.

The judges gushed over French Pattern tiles.

"Oh my God, these are like my favourite ever. They just say country," Shaynna shared.

What also said country was their choice of sink, which perfectly matched the one in the kitchen!

The amenity of the kitchen appliances was a big tick, from the coffee machine to the convection oven.

Plus, they'd also nailed the style!

The Dekton tile benches ran back to and up the wall, which they labelled a really great inclusion.

"That's form AND function," Darren said, as Marty deemed it a "luxurious" choice.

Marty said the natural light from the window made him "love being here".

"You can imagine how beautiful the morning sun is as well."
