Blockheads struggle with design and building terms

After renovating five homes you'd be forgiven for expecting The Block contestants to know the definitions of building and design terms. But when the teams played a guessing game exclusively for 9Entertainment, they managed to nail some words but had trouble with others.

El'ise had no idea what nibbler meant while Andy thought it referred to someone who could only finish part of a room, as in "they have a nibble at it". However the word refers to a tool for cutting metal.

When it came to explaining minimalism and industrial, Mitch and Mark came up with their own definition rather than using the dictionary meaning.

"Minimalist, nothing in a room, a justification to not style," said Mark.

"Also boring," Mitch added.

And bohemian style reminded Luke of the Queen song and hairy armpits, which Andy agreed with.

Jesse had his real estate agent hat on when he answered most of the questions and was bewildered when Jesse struggled to explain what a gazebo is.
