Mitch and Mark's surprising confession about getting older

The Bondi grandparents have spent the last 12 years flipping properties for fun but that's not what they think gives them an advantage on The Block.
Mitch revealed exclusively to 9Entertainment that he believes their age has helped them tackle the stressful demands of the competition.
"Being older, I thought it was going to make it tougher," the 56-year-old said. "Physically we were able to keep up, but mentally it was an advantage just because we've been through more crap. An older person has seen more and been through more, so you've got a better chance with dealing with good and bad."
The oldest couple on the 2019 season of The Block, Mitch and Mark, 57, met "the old-fashioned way in a bar" and have been inseparable since then.
So far the pair has stunned the judges with their luxurious renovations to the Oslo. It's no surprise then that their preferred décor style at home is equally as glamorous.
"Our décor style is totally varied, because we've done so many properties," he said. "We lean to luxe more than anything else, but we've played in other areas. We have done predominantly luxe eclectic."
The Block airs Sunday at 7.00pm and Monday to Wednesday at 7.30pm on Nine. Catch up on all the latest episodes on 9Now.
