Courtney and Sev threw absolutely everything at their Kids Bedroom and Redo Room this week, opting to give several spaces in their home a refresh.

The Redo room they were tasked with was their Living and Dining space. With three very controversial additions, they absolutely blew the judges away landing the first perfect score of the season and a whopping $50,000 in prize money.

In an effort to take out the week, which included $10,000 for each of the rooms, the girls went all in and it worked.

But not without ruffling a few feathers.

Courtney and Sev bought in three very distinct new design elements to their Living and Dining Room, including a mirrored wall, a fireplace and a custom coffee table from none other than Christian Cole.

Sound familiar? Well, it should because they were three of the key design features that really wowed the judges back during Living and Dining reveals weeks ago.

“I’d love to say that we’re not copying House 1, but she’s not the first person to do a mirror wall, let me tell you that,” Sev told the cameras in an interview before judging.

As for the feedback, well, the judges loved it.

When the judges arrived, Darren Palmer simply shouted “yes” as they walked up the stairs, while Shaynna Blaze noted you could feel the warmth from the fire as soon as you entered the space.

“From no fireplace to probably, one of the best,” noted Marty Fox.

Darren pointed out that it was interesting to see the mirror on the wall, just like in House 1 and “in exactly the same position too”.

The choice to add a fireplace, a mirror and a Christian Cole table definitely raised some eyebrows...  Nine

“I actually want to just sit down, because I am at home,” Marty said as he plonked himself down on the couch beside the fireplace.

Overall the judges had nothing negative to say about the space, which they all agreed had great balance.

“It’s funny that my two frontrunners, House 1 and House 4, have the exact same fireplace,” Marty pointed out.

Darren did wonder what Adam and Jolene in House 1 were going to think about the space.

“It’s one of the best living spaces in block history, when you combine everything,” Marty added.

But the positive feedback continued into their second space of the week, their Kids Bedroom, where the girls opted for colour drenching on the walls.

Despite the space being styled as a children’s bedroom, all three agreed that there was nothing in the space that felt overdone and that it would age up well.

The judges couldn’t fault their second space of the week, the Kids’ Bedroom.  Nine

Marty pointed out that you could easily swap the two single beds for a king size and the room would still work for an adult.

So with nothing but positives to say about the spaces, it’s no surprise that Courtney and Sev landed three 10s for the week – each coming with a bonus $10,000 from Arnotts.

Combined with the $10,000 prize for winning each room, it was a monster week of winning for the duo who walked away on Sunday night with an eye-watering $50,000.
