Brad Pitt’s $79 million gesture for Jennifer Aniston’s birthday

When most high-profile celebrities go through a public divorce, they tend to go their separate ways. But Brad Pitt is not your average ex.

The Hollywood actor might have just performed the sweetest gesture for his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston.

The star has reportedly bought back the now $79 million (US$56m) home the pair formerly shared while married, so that he can gift it to Jennifer.

Yes, you read that correctly.

The Beverly Hills property that Brad and Jen lived in during their marriage between 2000-2005 was on the market when they first split, and was a difficult thing for Jen to walk away from, according to New Idea.

“When Brad and Jen split, she said losing their dream home worsened the heartache of their divorce and it was one of her biggest regrets not buying Brad out,” a source told the publication.

Brad and Jen bought the four-bedroom home in Beverly Hills that included marble floors in the kitchen, a swimming pool, a pub room with wooden floors and a tennis court.

They then spent three years renovating the home, but listed and sold the estate shortly after announcing their split.

“Brad wants to make a gesture to Jen that would go beyond her wildest dreams, so when their old home came up for sale, he knew that would be the purchase to make all her dreams come true,” a source told New Idea.

The Hollywood heavyweight is said to have always missed her former home, struggling to leave it behind when the marriage didn’t work out.   

“She even referred to it on numerous occasions when they reunited, saying how her current Bel Air mansion never lived up to their Beverly Hills estate,” the source added.

Brad has set the bar high with this birthday gift, and this gesture begs the question on whether the actor still carries a flame for Jen.
