'You don't trust me': Han and Can hide from cameras amid 'chaotic' showdown – then things take an unexpected turn

EXCLUSIVE: The pool cabana has been a massive point of contention for Han and Can as they take on Backyard and Pool Week on The Block.

Microphones captured the couple spiralling into a major argument over their very different ideas about how to approach the cabana – Can wanted to keep it simple while Han wanted to spend what money they did have, which was not a lot.

The couple hid from cameras in their van while they went back and forth on whether or not to render the cabana at an extra cost.

"If you don't trust me then that's on you," Han huffed.

Thankfully, Freedom stylist Serena arrived right on cue to make at least one part of their pool cabana plans easier – what furniture to buy!

A stressed Can greeted Serena who then asked how things have been going. Can was quick to reply: "it's been chaos".

Let's relive some of that chaos, shall we?

To start with House 2 are broke and only have a $50k budget for their yard, that's not a lot considering their neighbours have up to $170k to splash.

Things only got worse when Han cringed over looking like a "spoiled brat" after watching her reaction to not getting the house she wanted on TV for the first time.

And of course there was the blue over the cabana which is now taking an unexpected turn.

While Han got her way with a rendered pool cabana, Can is getting her way with what goes inside it.

Can told Freedom stylist Serena her vision: "I want a curved lounge that will suit the curved room."

Serena talked Can through how to best select outdoor furniture and shared these helpful tips:

Consider materials for durability and maintenance

When selecting seats and tables, prioritise materials that are durable and easy to maintain in an outdoor environment. Think about how the item will handle sun exposure, rain and humidity.

In Can's case she opted for a leather couch in her pool cabana after considering it would be easier to wipe when people who are wet from swimming sit down on it.

Establish a sense of continuity

You'll want to create a harmonious flow between your interior and exterior spaces by using the same design principles.

Use a similar colour palette inside and outside, or like Can you can mimic shapes and lines. She chose to replicate the curves inside the home in the pool cabana and couch shape.

Function first

Choose multi-functional pieces to maximise value for money and space.

Consider items that serve a dual purpose, such as an ottoman that doubles as a coffee table or a storage bench that offers extra seating.
